Heat pump grant questions
How much is the heat pump grant?
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme gives £7,500 off an air source or ground source heat pump in England and Wales. Homes off the gas grid can get £9,000 until 31 March 2027. Air to air heat pumps get £2,500.
Do I need an EPC?
Not necessarily. If your home has a valid EPC we use its certificate number. If it doesn't, we can provide other evidence that it's eligible.
Do I pay the full price and claim the grant back?
No. The grant comes off your quote upfront and we claim it from Ofgem once the work is done.
Can I get the grant if I've had insulation funded before?
Yes. Previous energy efficiency funding doesn't stop you getting the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant.
Who can't get the grant?
Most new builds, social housing and homes that have already had government funding for a heat pump aren't eligible. The scheme covers England and Wales only.
